COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Argentina versus Honduras match drew in thousands of soccer fans to Kyle Field.
On Saturday, Aggieland rolled out the red carpet for visitors with pregame events and activities ahead of the “Road to 26” match. While most game day tailgates happen in Aggie Park, this time it looked a little different.

There were signs in Aggie Park that said no tailgating, however the pregame energy was present as fans checked out the Road to 26 shop and snapped photos at the Visit College Station setup.
The Texas A&M Hotel hosted the Gameday Grill, which served an international menu — Argentinian chorizo sandwiches, Honduran pupusas, plus burgers and hot dogs. Director of Food and Beverage Kevin Luque said this is not the first time the hotel has hosted the Gameday Grill.

“We do this on all our football games, and we thought, why not do it for all the other sporting events that are here next to the hotel, and we just love doing it and providing an amazing experience for our guests.”
Most fans traveled to College Station for the game. The Cobos family traveled from Lake Jackson to support the Argentina team and said they did not want to miss the moment.
“It’s making history, you know, that they’re going to play here, so it’s an amazing experience that we’re going to be a part of that,” said Abigail Cobos.
Post-game celebrations
After the game, the party continued with fans going to different establishments around town. Some establishments, like Pluckers Wing Bar, had a line out the door with fans. Most fans were decked out in their jerseys representing the Argentina team. The energy throughout town was very loud and electric.
