Texans, a mineral springs oasis is expanding, and it’s less than one hour away from San Antonio. Ottine Mineral Springs is celebrating its one-year anniversary with refreshing, mineral-rich pools, new summer amenities and the announcement of its next major phase of growth.
Ottine Mineral Springs, a scenic site that once provided healing waters to treat polio patients, underwent major renovations last year to transform the sanctuary into a public wellness experience. After the restoration efforts, the 40-acre property, which sits adjacent to Palmetto State Park in Ottine, offers several natural, mineral-rich pools, a lounge area, a food and beverage station, a cold plunge and sauna.

Now, a year later, the business has added more upgrades, including poolside cabanas with personalized service, according to a May 14 news release. In addition to the upgrades, Ottine Mineral Springs announced plans for a future restaurant and retail concept, as well as a hotel.

The pools, fed by an artesian well reaching 1,554 feet into the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer, are rich in minerals such as magnesium, sodium bicarbonate and salt—known to help ease muscle tension, support circulation, improve skin health and promote relaxation.

Upgrades at Ottine Mineral Springs
Ottine Mineral Springs continues to expand its guest experience. This summer, the property will introduce poolside cabanas, complete with personalized waitstaff, refreshing misters, complimentary water, and cozy robes. Additionally, guests may now reserve a private courtyard space for up to 20 people, which includes two mineral pools, hammocks, a sauna, a cold plunge, showers and restrooms.

At the site, the pools are fed by an artesian well reaching 1,554 feet into the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer. The pools are rich in minerals, such as magnesium, sodium bicarbonate and salt, which are known to help ease muscle tension, support circulation, improve skin health and promote relaxation, according to the release.

Looking ahead, Ottine plans to debut a new air-conditioned indoor soaking space and lounge area, complete with restrooms, showers and a pop-up bar, as well as a new, larger sauna to expand its wellness offerings. A full-service restaurant and retail component are also in development, alongside a future hotel.

Ottine’s healing legacy dates back to 1909, when a 107-degree artesian spring was first discovered on the property. In the 1930s, the Gonzales Warm Springs Foundation used the waters to provide therapeutic relief to children with polio, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds, according to the release.

How much is Ottine Mineral Springs?
Ottine Mineral Springs is open year-round, though reservations are required and the property is closed on Mondays. Guests can purchase all-day passes Tuesday through Friday, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday passes priced at $65. Friday all-day passes cost $75. The retreat also offers “Whisper Wednesdays,” designed for a quieter, more peaceful soaking experience.

For visitors looking for a shorter evening visit, Ottine offers Sunset Soak Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. for $35.
The Cypress pool in the public area has stones and pebbles at the bottom, as well as grottos with mineral water waterfalls.

Weekend pricing is split into time blocks on Saturdays and Sundays. Morning admission from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. costs $75, while afternoon and evening admission from 3 to 8 p.m. is also $75. Guests wanting full-day access can purchase an all-day weekend pass for $125.
