We’re two weeks from Halloween, but now is the perfect time to start your holiday shopping.
If you ask anyone around here, I’m Mr. Halloween. I co-own Halloween theme parks in Lubbock and Austin, and spooky season is a 365-day passion for me. I’m always building, decorating, or scheming up something new for October. Still, some people assume that because I live and breathe Halloween, I must not care about Christmas. That couldn’t be further from the truth. My heart’s big enough for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day — and any excuse to celebrate joy.
All that said, it’s never too early to start holiday shopping. You can make life easy on yourself right now by thinking ahead. Sure, you could procrastinate and end up panic-ordering gift cards from Amazon, but why not make it personal?
Lubbock Holiday Shopping Starts Now — Support Local and Stay Sane
Here’s my simple suggestion: as you go about your daily errands, grab gift certificates from local restaurants, salons, or shops you already enjoy. You’re there anyway, and you’ll be supporting local Lubbock businesses while checking off your list early.
The beauty of this approach is that you can match experiences with personalities — that friend who loves BBQ, the coworker who lives for brunch, the family member obsessed with crystals. Plus, when December rolls around, you’ll be calm, collected, and done.

Most Lubbock businesses offer gift cards or certificates, and if they don’t, your request might just inspire them to start. Shop smart, shop early, and give from the heart.
