Halperin Park in southern Dallas is set to host six FIFA World Cup watch parties, welcoming fans to performances, soccer-themed programming and a variety of food trucks.
As Dallas’ newest deck park, Halperin opened last month with the vision that it would bridge communities in Oak Cliff and attract visitors to the area, near the Dallas Zoo.
Visitors can expect several water fountains and a playground, along with an assortment of programming and kids’ activities. It’s now set to show live broadcasts from under its band shell, or from its lawn, with several screens throughout the park.
Watch parties will also take place at Klyde Warren Park in Uptown. They’re among several experiences planned across North Texas as the region expects to celebrate with visitors from across the globe. The parties at Halperin, from June 11 to June 25, are in collaboration with the North Texas FWC Organizing Committee, according to a news release.
“The World Cup brings the world together, and that is exactly what Halperin Park is designed to do for Dallas,” Noelle LeVeaux, chief marketing officer for the organizing committee, said in a statement. “These watch parties are about more than just soccer — they are a celebration of our diverse cultures and the vibrant, welcoming spirit of our community.”
