CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to numerous calls regarding bike-related issues, including crashes and traffic violations, over a two-week period.
During the week of May 22-31, 2026, the department handled 19 service calls concerning various types of bikes, such as pocket bikes, mini bikes, and e-bikes, which have been identified as a quality-of-life concern in the community. Among these calls, one involved a crash. The police impounded 14 bikes, issued 12 citations, and made three arrests during this time, according to a press release from the department.
In the following week, from June 1-7, 2026, the department responded to 13 calls for service. Officers impounded six bikes, issued four citations, and gave one warning for different traffic violations, stated the source.
