San Antonio beer drinkers have been without Alamo Beer Co.’s taproom since February, following one last karaoke night at the brewery’s beer hall. More recently, Alamo Beer has been teasing a comeback on social media with hints that its extended renovations are nearing the end.
“See y’all in July. Official Grand Reopening date will be announced soon,” the brewery said in an Instagram post that included the slogan, “Strong roots, new boots.”
MySA reached out to the brewery to learn more about what changes have been made to Alamo Beer Co.’s home, which has been planted underneath the Hays Street Bridge for more than a decade. We did not receive a response at the time of publication, but we will update this story as more information is made available.
Alamo Beer Co. saw many changes in recent years, including filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in February 2025. By December of that same year, SKJ Capital had taken over the large San Antonio brewery.
Soon after the acquisition, a renovation was planned for the space, according to a January 28 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). That filing mentioned that Alamo Beer Co. would undergo a partial interior remodel for the beer hall and its restrooms.
