El Paso police arrested an armed person after a standoff Monday morning that closed off Loop 375 at Purple Heart.
According to the El Paso Police Department, a suspect is in police custody after they say there was a crash and responding officers found a suspect barricaded in his vehicle with a weapon in the area of Purple Heart/ Liberty.
Call came in at around 10:43 a.m.
EPPD said the crash involved one vehicle hitting a barricade.
No injuries were reported except for the suspect, who suffered a dog bite from a K9.
The standoff closed the area for a couple of hours.
