No. 13 TCU’s recent struggles in Big 12 play continued Friday evening, when the Horned Frogs conceded a three-set sweep against Arizona and suffered their fourth consecutive conference defeat. Once near the top of the Big 12 standings, TCU (16-7, 6-5 Big 12) has fallen into a tie for seventh place with the Wildcats. Offensive woes were an issue for the Horned Frogs, who hit just .135 while committing 20 errors and blocking just four shots. TCU will attempt to snap its losing streak during a home match against Utah on Friday, Nov. 7.
Rosemary Archer collected 15 assists and surpassed 1,500 assists for her career as the Horned Frogs fell to the Wildcats 16-25, 23-25, 24-26. Outside hitter Evan Hendrix earned a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs, while Ella Foti recorded a double-double with 14 assists and 11 digs. Outside hitter Becca Kelley led TCU with 12 kills and Lauren Murphy added seven kills for the Horned Frogs, whose struggles receiving serves continued on Friday. TCU finished with six receiving errors and eight service errors on just five aces. Sophomore libero Alice Volpe chipped in five assists and led the back-row defense with 13 digs.
