Teso Life, based in New York but known for its Japanese goodies, is about to begin work on a location in El Paso, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration. That will mark the chain’s first location in Texas’ sixth-largest city as it expands across the state and will give residents a place to shop for Japanese beauty, snacks, home, kitchen and office items, as well as accessories for cars and pets.

According to the filing, work on the 22,800-square-foot store begins June 8 and will wrap up by November 1. The store will land in El Paso’s Eastlake Commons shopping center, which is developed by River Oaks Properties. A site plan on River Oaks Properties’ website shows Teso Life neighboring Dutch Bros Coffee, Applebee’s, Dave’s Hot Chicken and more near the intersection of Rojas Drive and Eastlake Boulevard — however, it’s unclear which suite at the 12261 Eastlake Blvd. address it will occupy. 

Teso Life has been steadily increasing its presence in Texas, including opening its first San Antonio store in October 2025. Since then, two more Alamo City locations have been confirmed to open this year: one at The Forum in the Live Oak-Selma-Schertz area and another on SE Military Drive. When it opened near I-10 and De Zavala last year, San Antonians formed lines that wrapped around the block to get in, and the hype has hardly died down as eager shoppers have found their vehicles towed from spots reserved for other businesses that share the parking lot. 

Elsewhere in Central Texas, Teso Life is preparing to open off of I-35 and Highway 290 in Austin. The retailer currently has a store in Houston with another on the way and more coming to Pearland and Katy. There are two in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in Frisco and Carrollton. Four more are planned for the area in Plano, Arlington, Dallas and Haltom City. MySA reached out to Teso Life for more details on the El Paso store and an opening timeline, but had not heard back at the time of publication.
