Finding a restaurant the whole family can agree on isn’t always easy, but Arlington has plenty of spots that make dining out with kids a little more fun—and a lot less stressful. Chuck E. Cheese’s Adventure World

Of the more than a dozen Chuck E. Cheese locations around DFW, this one in Arlington is in a world all its own. Think beyond pizza and arcades. Your little ones can spend hours of active play inside this three-story, 12,000-square-foot attraction. The indoor playground has got a trampoline zone with slides and a soft superhero-themed area (both for kids under 56 inches), and another play area specially for toddlers. (Don’t forget to wear your socks!) There’s even a mini soccer court and, of course, a light-up dance floor.
Open since last November, it’s the first-ever such attraction from Chuck E. Cheese, which is approaching 50 years in business, and only one of a handful in the U.S. It’s all designed specifically for kids 3–8 years, although there are no height restrictions to step inside and keep a closer eye on them. Plus, Chuck E. Cheese has their own Kid Check system in place with UV-stamps (or stickers for babies) when you enter. It’s an extra measure of security to make sure everyone in your brood sticks together after playing and eating, which brings us back to the menu.
At the snack bar, you can expect pizza, popcorn, giant pretzels, chips and treats like cinnamon churros. The food is priced separately from the play area, which will run you $19.99 per child ages 1 year and older. That includes two free parent admissions per child and all-day access. Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar
Best for: Weekday deals, weekend brunch and dog-lovers
With its cozy, lodge-inspired setting and expansive menu, Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar is a go-to spot for an easy, everyone-will-be-happy meal. This Arlington Highlands restaurant is warm and relaxed, with plenty of space and a come-as-you-are feel that works well for dining with kids. They also have a spacious patio if you prefer outdoor seating.
Lazy Dog’s wide-ranging menu (though notably, no hot dogs) that makes it especially appealing for groups with different tastes. Kids have their own dedicated menu with favorites like mac and cheese, cheesy pizza sticks, nuggets, plain noodles and, available as a refreshing side, a slice of watermelon.
This is also a prime brunch spot, until 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays offering kids brunch options like a hearty “Top Dog Breakfast” of eggs, bacons and tater tots and a sweet of chocolate chip pancakes.

For an extra sweet treat that won’t cost you a dime, come on Wednesdays for Family Nights (or anytime that day) when Lazy Dog offers kids its Build Your Own Sundae deal, free with a kids meal (dine in, 12 and under only).

Housed in a converted former fuel station, the restaurant has an open, casual feel with plenty of character—something kids tend to find fun and a little different.
