LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas (KCBD) — Two people were killed and a 6-year-old boy was seriously injured in a head-on crash Thursday on FM 1585 in Lubbock County, authorities said.
The two-vehicle crash was reported at 11:34 a.m. at the intersection of FM 1585 and County Road 1100.
Investigators said an SUV, driven by 49-year-old Joseph Ellis was traveling eastbound on FM 1585 as a pickup traveled westbound toward the intersection. For unknown reasons, the SUV crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the pickup, authorities said.
Ellis and his passenger, 49-year-old Gina Ganaway, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 6-year-old boy riding in the SUV was taken to UMC with serious injuries.
The pickup driver suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
