Firehouse Subs will open a new location in Boerne sometime later this year, according to a new construction filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

The state filing reveals plans to begin work on the new space on June 15 in Boerne’s Menger Crossing shopping center, located along Main Street in the Hill Country town. It will replace a shuttered Game Stop store that closed in January.

The new location will bring a little more convenience to the city’s dining scene, but the arrival of another national chain in Boerne also highlights the growth coming to the rapidly developing area, especially as forthcoming developments move into new phases of construction and are set to open in coming years.

The franchise is currently scheduled to complete its $450,000 renovation project by September 15, 2026, although all TDLR dates are subject to change.

Firehouse Subs is known for their large, sub-style sandwiches, steamed meats and different sandwich options.

The fast-casual eatery opened its first location in 1994 under the helm of brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, who come from a long line of fire fighters and are themselves both former fire fighters.

Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, Firehouse Subs has more than 1,450 locations, with plans to continue expanding the brand across the United States.
