Authorities are assisting with an “active shooter situation” in Midland, Texas, on Friday morning, according to the Ercot County Sheriff’s Office.

According to City of Midland officials, police responded to the 4600 block of West Wall Street after reports of gunfire coming from a building.

“Armored units were deployed, and partner agencies assisted in the response. Efforts to bring the standoff with the shooter to a safe resolution are ongoing,” they said in a social media post.
