EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – A man was booked into the El Paso County Jail after law enforcement said he brandished a gun, firing at least one shot and then fleeing the area.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls a little before 11 p.m. on Thursday. Callers highlighted a disturbance at an apartment complex located in the 5990 block of Prosperity Point in the Cimarron Hills area.
Deputies said 21-year-old Joseph Brown Francis was at the property to collect personal belongings. Law enforcement said the suspect became angry with three other people there and started throwing rocks at one of their cars.
The victims said they tried to de-escalate the situation before Brown Francis brandished a gun and fired at least one round. No one was injured.
Officers said Brown Francis returned to the scene after deputies arrived to collect evidence and witness statements. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on harassment, felony menacing, and reckless endangerment charges.
He was later released on a $3,000 bond.
