Speaking to a packed house at the Texas GOP Convention in Houston, Governor Greg Abbott highlighted some of the big wins for Republicans, while vowing to “demolish” Democrats in November.
Abbott also pushed for more property tax reform as one of his top legislative priorities. And he also added that while Texas has made great strides with election integrity, he’s calling on the GOP to allow only registered Republicans to vote in the primaries.
“We’re going to make sure that only Republicans vote in Republican primaries,” Abbott told the crowd.
Abbott is running for a record-setting fourth term as Texas governor, and he faces radical Democrat Gina Hinojosa, an Austin state representative.
“When Republicans unite, we are unbeatable,” Abbott said to applause. “That unity will drive victory this November.”
