A San Antonio man has been arrested on a murder charge after authorities said he fatally shot another San Antonio resident in Grayson County.

Kevin Emmanuel Kraemer, 35, is charged with murder in the death of Edward Cruz Trevino, 34. Kraemer is being held in the Grayson County Jail, and a bond amount was not immediately available.

The shooting occurred Wednesday near Bells, a city about 70 miles north of Dallas.

According to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 4:44 p.m. to a report of a shooting and information that a possible victim was located on Antioch Road.

Deputies identified two crime scenes during the investigation – one on Antioch Road near Highway 56 and another in the parking lot of the Bells Post Office.

Trevino was found dead near the roadway on Antioch Road, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities said his family has been notified.

Kraemer was located near the scene and taken into custody without incident by patrol deputies, officials said.

Investigators have not disclosed how the shooting unfolded, but evidence collected at the scene and witness statements led them to identify Kraemer as the suspect and arrest him at the scene.

The Texas Rangers are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
