The hiring event is scheduled for Friday, June 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Daikin Texas Technology Park, located at 19001 Kermier Road.
According to the company, applicants will be able to meet with recruiters in person, learn about available positions and potentially schedule next steps on the spot.
“We’re thrilled to be adding 400 new jobs,” Kristi Pittman, Daikin’s senior vice president of human resources told Chron in a statement. “At Daikin, we offer the chance to learn, grow, and build a career with real upward mobility.”
The openings are for production team members, the employees responsible for assembling heating and air conditioning systems manufactured at the company’s Waller facility.
Daikin Texas Technology Park spans roughly 4.2 million square feet and manufactures Goodman, Amana and Daikin HVAC products. The company describes the campus as one of the largest manufacturing facilities operating under a single roof in the United States.
Positions start at $14.66 per hour and include benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
“We designed this to be the easiest next step someone can take in their career,” Pittman added. “Job seekers meet our recruiting team in person, learn about the roles that fit them, and can get scheduled on the spot.”
The hiring push comes as several Texas employers and school districts have recently announced workforce reductions amid budget pressures and enrollment declines. Earlier this week for example, Chron reported that El Paso ISD plans to eliminate nearly 250 positions due to declining enrollment and financial challenges.
