LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Ronald Winter, the 24-year-old man charged in the shooting at the Texas Roadhouse in Okolona, was arraigned in jail court today. Winter is charged with second-degree assault.
Bond for Winter was set at $25,000 full cash. The court requested that he be released on his own recognizance but judge kept bond at $25,000 due to the nature of the offense. Winter has no previous criminal record.
Officers responded to a call of a shooting at the Texas Roadhouse at 3322 Old Outer Loop on Thursday, June 11, at around 6 p.m.
At the scene, officers found a man who had been shot and began providing aid until medical crews arrived. The victim was taken to UofL Hospital by EMS.

According to the arrest warrant, an employee of Texas Roadhouse saw Winter attempt to leave without paying for his meal. The employee confronted Winter and grabbed his arm.
Police say that’s when Winter reached for his waistband area and the employee attempted to tackle him to the ground when he heard a gunshot.
The employee was shot in the shoulder. He was able to describe Winter, who fled in a red Ford Ranger according to multiple witnesses and surveillance footage, police said.
Winter was found by the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office with a black handgun with a shell casing in the chamber.
The Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is leading the investigation, which remains ongoing.
