EL PASO, Texas — A fatal collision occurred on June 13, 2026, on the 1300 block of Don Haskins, resulting in the death of a Horizon, Texas resident.
The Special Traffic Investigation Unit responded to the scene where a 2007 Nissan Xterra, driven by 28-year-old Ricardo Martinez, collided with a properly parked 2026 Kenworth with a white box trailer, according to a press release from the El Paso Police Department. Martinez suffered serious injuries and later succumbed to them.
The Kenworth was driven by 24-year-old Muhangal Abdullahi Hussein, of Fort Worth, Texas. Speed has been identified as a contributing factor in the collision, stated the source. This incident marks the 21st traffic fatality in El Paso for 2026, compared to 28 at the same time last year. The investigation is ongoing.
