CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The 2026 Coastal Bend Juneteenth Festival is just around the corner, offering a chance to experience Black culture and explore the meaning behind the holiday.

Tina Butler with TAPHBE said while the event will feature live artists and food for all, the meaning behind Juneteenth goes far deeper than that.

“We wanna make sure that we continue the history, uh, the legacy, passing the information down because as you said, many don’t know, you know what Juneteenth is and I’m happy to,” she said. “See that it’s not only being acknowledged in Texas since that was a Texas, you know, information, but across the nation.”

For those wanting to attend, there are a few things to keep in mind.

$5 (ages 13 and up)
$1 (ages 12 and under)

Artists expected to perform at this event include Bun B, Underground Frequency, Elle Varner, B Bankz and the Bayou City Brass Band.
