Texas police officers acted quickly to locate and rescue a child who had wandered into a river on Friday, June 12.

Officers from the Fort Worth Police Department responded to a report on Friday afternoon of a missing child in the area of Dream Park, a 57,000-square-foot playground for disabled kids.

The child was spotted partially submerged in the Clear Fork of the Trinity River.

Bodycam and aerial footage show the moment police encountered the child, who “appeared disoriented and began moving father into the water,” at times going beneath the surface, the department said.

“Without hesitation, one of our officers entered the water and safely brought the child to shore before the situation could become even more dangerous,” the Fort Worth Police Department said on Facebook. “This is a reminder that sometimes the difference between tragedy and relief is measured in seconds.” Credit: Fort Worth Police Department via Storyful
