EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — An 84-year-old woman died almost a week after she and another man were hit by a pickup truck while crossing the street in East El Paso.

According to the El Paso Police Department, Elena Alarcon died Saturday from the injuries she sustained back on Oct. 26, after she was reportedly crossing George Dieter (near Pendale) with 58-year-old Adan Vasquez, when a 2019 Ford F150 hit them.

Investigators believe it was around 9 p.m., when the pickup truck drove out of a parking lot, made a turn to go on the 1400 block of George Dieter and hit the two pedestrians.

Police did not reveal the condition Vasquez is in.

Investigators stated that they determined the pickup truck driver failed to give pedestrians the right of way.

The driver of the pickup truck appears not to face charges.

According to police statistics, this is the 55th traffic death of 2025 compared to 57 this same time in 2024.
