Every year since 2019, Rocco’s Pizza and Cantina holds the annual Jell-O Shot Challenge, during which fans of their respective teams can down as many of the school colored shots as they’d like throughout the near-two weeks. The shots are $5 but $1.50 of each goes to food banks associated with schools playing in the Men’s College World Series; the shot tally is updated every few hours.
The Longhorns fans, as of Sunday night, are dead last with 1,937. But when the standings were updated at around noon, the Longhorns were next to last with 2,434 behind Alabama. West Virginia leads the pack with 23,003.
But does winning the challenge come with a bit of luck?
Every year since 2021, whoever wins the College World Series is often found atop the leader board at Rocco’s. Tennessee (2024 champions) had 38,799, Ole Miss (2022) had 18,777 and Mississippi State (2021) had 2,965. Arkansas won the inaugural challenge in 2019 with 864 but Vanderbilt won the (baseball) title that year.
