The Big 12 has “filed a complaint in federal court against Texas Tech, Texas AG Ken Paxton and more, seeking declaratory judgement and a preliminary injunction to enforce its rules” on the QB Brendan Sorsby saga, according to SBJ’s Ben Portnoy. The conference acknowledges that its members “desire to hold a vote to sanction Texas Tech should it go forward with playing Sorsby.” The filing also contains a handful of exhibits, including letters from the Texas and Oklahoma AGs, the Big 12 bylaws and the league’s sports betting policy. The suit is “basically an effort to give the league the authority to discipline Texas Tech” if it plays Sorsby (X, 6/15).
