LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A 6-year-old is facing a long road to recovery after a fatal head-on crash on FM 1585 just west of Highway 62.
Investigators say 49-year-old Joseph Ellis drove head-on into a pickup in the opposite lane.
Ellis and his passenger, 49-year-old Gina Ganaway, died at the scene.

Six-year-old Tyler was taken to UMC with serious injuries.
According to a GoFundMe page, Tyler is suffering from swelling on the brain and other trauma.
The page explains the funds raised will go directly toward Tyler’s medical bills, therapy, surgeries and any adaptive equipment he may need as he heals.
