LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Adult Protective Services in Lubbock has air conditioning units and box fans available for elderly or homebound families.
The agency can also provide bottled water and other necessities, including food, to keep vulnerable residents from having to go outside.
“We assist in other things they could possibly need. Some people have homes they own and they haven’t gotten something fixed, they don’t have those funds or had to use the funds for something else, we try to step in and help them with what we can,” Priscilla Rosales, with the Department of Family and Protective Services, said.
Anyone who knows a family member or neighbor needs help can file a report anonymously. An APS agent will check on them and determine what the service can do to help.
