Heavy rains flooded parts of Brazoria County near Houston on Wednesday, June 17, prompting officials to issue flash flood warnings in the area.

According to local news reports, county and city officials reported between 5 and 7 inches of rainfall in the area as of 8:30 am on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service issued a flood watch to remain in effect in the area until Wednesday evening, with Tropical Storm Arthur expected to bring heavy rain and flash flooding to parts of southeast Texas.
