CURRY COUNTY, Ore. — Law enforcement officers are searching for a Texas man after an incident near the southern Oregon Coast, saying he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The Curry County Sheriff’s Office reported an incident near the community of Agness, and said they were searching for Kenneth Leatherwood of Bastrop, Texas.
Leatherwood is wanted for sex-related crimes involving a minor, as well as stolen weapons and a stolen vehicle, authorities say.
He’s in his late 30s, and is described as being about 5-foot 10-inches tall, with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing an ‘ivory’ t-shirt, blue jeans, and cowboy boots.
Leatherwood also might have an Australian Shepherd mix dog with him.
If you see him, call 9-1-1 and do not approach him, as deputies say he’s believed to be armed and could be dangerous.
If you have helpful information to the search, call the Curry County Sheriff’s Office at 541-247-3242.
The sheriff’s office said Leatherwood is not wanted by the FBI, but that they are working with Oregon State Police on the search.
