CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A missing six-year-old Maple Heights boy, was found safe in Houston, Texas, the U.S. Marshals announced Thursday.
D’Juan Younger, 37, is now charged with interference with custody.
Younger allegedly took the child from a family member’s home without permission on June 15.
The child mother called Maple Heights police after arriving at the family member’s home and finding the child missing.
Police and the mother pleaded with Younger to return the boy, but he refused, said the U.S. Marshals.
On June 16, Maple Heights police requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service SPEAR Unit.
The U.S. Marshals in Northern Ohio then immediately reached out to the U.S. Marshals in the Southern District of Texas.
The child was found safe the next day and Younger taken into custody.
Younger will remain in Texas until he is can be extradited back to Cuyahoga County.
