The American snout butterflies took over Whataburger Field as Corpus Christi took on San Antonio in a doubleheader Wednesday.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Hooks battled the San Antonio Missions, the humidity and the butterflies in splitting a doubleheader Wednesday at Whataburger Field.
The Hooks dropped Game 1 to the Missions 4-3 before rallying from a second straight three-run deficit to win Game 2 by a final of 7-4.
Both games saw thousands of American snout butterflies take over Whataburger Field. Thursday returns to a single, nine-inning game beginning at 6:35 PM. It remains to be seen whether the butterflies will once again check out the action.
