To reel in top recruiting classes and have them translate on the gridiron against elite college football competition, it takes building genuine relationships with players and fostering a bond that can’t be matched by opposing programs.

That is something Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko knows more than any coach in the country. He forms connections, puts an outstanding product on the field and sends his talent to the next level. Those aspects of Elko’s culture in Bryan-College Station were key in landing one of the top players from the 2027 recruiting cycle.

After much anticipation for his decision, five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson announced he will begin his collegiate career with the Aggies. This comes just days after Notre Dame recruiting experts logged projections for the Fighting Irish to land the No. 1 linebacker. His relationship with Elko and belief in what the third-year head coach is building at Texas A&M led to his addition to an already stacked 2027 class, which currently ranks No. 1 in the country.

The blue-chip defender wanted to play in the SEC, and he will get his opportunity while donning the Maroon and White uniform next year. Henderson has all the tools to be a star in Elko’s defense, including physicality, grittiness and an elite ball-tracking ability that could anchor the Aggies’ linebacking corps for years to come.

Here are some of the best social media reactions to Henderson’s massive commitment to Texas A&M that broke the internet on Thursday:
