Stolen vehicle found abandoned a block away

HOUSTON – A man was killed Thursday morning after an alleged car thief stole his vehicle and struck him while fleeing the scene in northwest Houston, according to police.
The incident happened around 7:45 a.m. near the intersection of Antoine Drive and Holly View Drive.
Investigators said the victim was working on his vehicle when an unknown suspect jumped inside and drove away. As the suspect fled, police said the vehicle’s owner was fatally struck.
The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned about a block away on Sheraton Oaks Drive.
Authorities have not released a description of the suspect.
Houston Police Department officers remained at the scene Thursday morning as the investigation continued.
