Over 40,000 Oncor customers are without power across Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant and Wise counties, according to the company’s outage map. The company is reporting over 943 power outages across the region.
Dallas County has the highest number of affected customers, with nearly 30,000 reporting power issues as of 8:30 a.m. Denton County is also having significant outages, with nearly 10,000 people impacted, according to Oncor’s outage map.
Oncor spokesperson Roxana Rubio said the company is actively working to assess the damage, but does not yet have an estimate for when the issues will be fixed.
“Our damage evaluation process is always the first step. Damage evaluators are already out to all these locations,” Rubio said. “That’s a critical first step because they will evaluate the impact and what resources are needed.”
Rubio said customers can text REG to 66267 to get up-to-date alerts about when their specific area could see their power restored. She added that customers should call 911 to report downed power lines.
Earlier this morning, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning, instructing residents to stay off the roads. The warning is expected to stay in place until 10:45 a.m.
