LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A mild and below average day is on the way for your Friday for most of the South Plains. However, a stark warm up is on the way as we look ahead to Father’s Day weekend as we see 100s back on the menu.
FRIDAY (JUNETEENTH)
Gorgeous and comfortable. Temperatures will mostly hit the mid tp upper 80s this afternoon.
A pleasant and warm Juneteenth is on the way this afternoon(Dylan Smith)
Winds won’t be nearly as strong as yesterday with a breeze of around 10 to 20 mph expected.
TONIGHT
Mild again. Overnight lows drop into the 60s and lower 70s. A bit of cloud cover but not much in the way of rain is expected.
FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND
A spike in temperatures is heading our way, with the peak of temperatures expected Sunday afternoon.
Hot, sunny and breezy weekend with high temperatures climbing back into the low to mid 100s by Sunday(Dylan Smith)
Highs will climb into the mid 90s Saturday and then the low to mid 100s for Sunday.
