Families can receive food boxes, fresh produce and school supplies during H-E-B’s Summer of Sharing event at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds.

ROBSTOWN, Texas — H-E-B is preparing to help 1,500 Coastal Bend families by providing free food and school supplies during its Summer of Sharing event in Robstown this weekend.

The event will take place on Saturday at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds and is open to the public while supplies last.

In partnership with the Coastal Bend Food Bank, H-E-B will distribute food boxes, fresh produce and school supplies to families attending the drive-through event.

Organizers expect a large turnout and will begin allowing vehicles to line up at 6 a.m. before distribution starts.

The giveaway is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The fairgrounds is located at 1213 Terry Shamsie Blvd in Robstown.

The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority will also provide transportation service to the fairgrounds for residents who need assistance getting to the event.

The Summer of Sharing event is designed to help families meet food needs while preparing children for the upcoming school year.
