It’s another busy weekend on the recruiting trail across the country as college football programs host coveted targets from coast to coast.
Top prospects from Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and across the Mid-South region are hitting pivotal official visits around the country. Ole Miss, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Georgia, and SMU are playing host to some of the biggest official visit weekends.
Rivals highlights some of the biggest happenings.
Ole Miss leads for key official visitor
+Rivals300 WR Alvin Mosley returns to Oxford for an official visit. The four-star multi-sport athlete out of Rosharon (Texas) Almeta Crawford is a priority target for the Rebels, who lead on the Rivals RPM. That includes a forecast from this analyst. Mosley is set to commit on June 27.
+The Rebels took a giant step forward with four-star RB Trey Martin this spring. Ole Miss gets its last crack as Marti closes in on a decision. As it stands today, the Gators and Tigers are setting the pace with the No. 10 RB in the 2027 class.
Texas Tech gets prized commit, blue-chip target back to town
+No. 3 WR Benny Easter Jr. will be back in Lubbock this weekend after the family logged their second trip up to Columbus for an official visit. The family raved about their time at Ohio State, and the blue-chipper from Humble (Texas) Summer Creek expressed that the Buckeyes were closing the gap with Texas Tech. The Red Raiders were the first to offer Easter as an underclassman and have been sitting in the driver’s seat for the span of this recruitment.
+Top-100 ATH Gideon Gash is back on campus at Tech after having a very good visit to West Texas in the spring, which sources said moved the needle in this recruitment. Gash officially visited Michigan State last weekend and, of course, has strong ties to the Spartans. This is a two-team battle between Texas Tech and Oklahoma, which will host Gash over the next two weekends.
Texas hosting multiple 5-stars in a blockbuster weekend
+No. 1 CB John Meredith returns to Texas for what should be his last official visit before locking in his college commitment. In what has been a fluid recruitment, both the Aggies and the Longhorns have been leading at various stretches over the last few months. Texas took a significant step forward after the five-star CB logged consecutive visits to Austin in April, which was reflected in the Rivals RPM. Texas A&M set a high bar for Meredith and his family last weekend; Steve Sarkisian and the Texas staff are ready to counter.
+No. 1 overall prospect Jalen Brewster will be back on the Forty Acres for the first time in months. The crown jewel of Texas Tech’s 2027 recruiting class from Cedar Hill (Texas) has logged official visits to SMU, LSU, and Indiana so far. The Longhorns have continued to maintain dialogue with the five-star DL throughout the spring leading into this weekend’s visit back to Austin.
+Blue-chip defensive lineman Raiden Cook and linebacker Jhadyn Nelson are flip targets heading to Texas this weekend. The Longhorns have kept their foot on the gas with the top-100 prospect since offering in March. Texas was an early favorite for Nelson, one of the top LB in America, and has continued to press behind the scenes. Texas also made a splash with in-state CB Trent Blaylock this spring.
+Prized in-state WR target Briceson Thrower will announce his commitment on Saturday. I love my RPM prediction for Texas to land the big-framed pass-catcher from North Forney (Texas).
Georgia hosting quarterback committed to Big 12 program
Georgia will host All-American QB Carson White this weekend and has been turning up the heat on the Big 12 commitment throughout the spring. The Dawgs have been adjusting their quarterback board during the Evaluation Period and after Peter Bourque pledged to Virginia Tech.
Georgia is a team positioning itself well leading into the weekend.
“I am very excited for this trip,” White told Rivals. “They’ve been pressing pretty hard,” he continued. “I’m just excited to see what they have in store for me and what their plan is for me.”
SMU leads the way for a few top prospects visiting
+SMU will have a fantastic group of defensive backs this weekend, including four-star CB Montre Jackson, three-star CB Dhillon McGee, three-star S Isaiah Udom, and Rivals Industry Ranking No. 17 ATH Jaiden Fields, who this staff loves at safety. I like where the Mustangs are positioned with McGee. They have the edge on the Rivals RPM with Fields, but Texas A&M is tightening this race. SMU is in striking distance with Udom — in a close race with Texas. The Mustangs will never stop recruiting Jackson out of nearby Garland (Texas) Lakeview.
+The Rivals RPM favors SMU for both LB Braylon Williams and DL Finn Walker. Williams will lock in a decision on June 26 and I love the Mustangs’ chances. SMU is also in a strong position with Walker after taking a big step forward this spring. Kansas State is also keeping this one close.
+Four-star Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff OL Brian Swanson will also be back on the Hilltop. Swanson has made a string of visits to SMU, including twice again this spring. Oklahoma had Swanson back on campus last weekend and Texas will get his last visit before a decision.
New prediction logged for Oklahoma State
+Sonny Mullen was one of seven prospects to commit to Houston last weekend. Oklahoma State was trending for the three-star OT from Troy (Texas) this spring and will get the flip target on campus this weekend.
+Three-star Amarillo (Texas) Bushland interior OL Jaxon Lawler will officially visit this weekend and aims to have a commitment in place before the end of the month. If a decision were made today, I like where Oklahoma State stands. Oklahoma’s offer moved the needle. Nobody has recruited Lawler harder than the Cowboys so far.
+Touted three-star EDGE Jalen Price‘s first visit after reopening his recruitment was back to Stillwater. Oklahoma State is one of the favorites for the former Big 12 commitment, along with Kansas State. There is optimism in the building about the Cowboys’ chances here.
Arkansas hosting prized 4-star QB target, a few top targets
+Colton Nussmeier is the top uncommitted passer in the country and will return to The Hill as he closes in on a decision. The four-star QB is set to visit Arkansas and then Georgia, and it would not be surprising to see him pull the trigger during one of these upcoming visits. Ryan Silverfield and Tim Cramsey have done an excellent job recruiting Nussmeier and his family leading into this visit back.
+Four-star CB Joshua Banks is making his first visit up to Fayetteville. The No. 17 CB in the Rivals300 saw an uptick in his recruitment this spring and is bullish on Arkansas, as well as Texas Tech and LSU.
+Three-star CB J’lynnd Kellow and WR Brody Knowles are closing on their decisions. Kellow officially visited Mississippi State last weekend and will return to Arkansas this weekend before locking in his commitment on Tuesday (June 9). Knowles will come off the board on June 22, and the Razorbacks are one of the favorites.
Flip target returning to LSU
+LSU is bringing in two cornerback targets in top-100 ATH Tae Walden and three-star defensive back Greedy James, a Texas verbal. James is from New Orleans and has family around South Louisiana. The Tigers and the Irish are both giving the Longhorns a lot of run for the standout DB from Manvel (Texas).
+The Tigers will host three-star Frisco (Texas) RB Brennen Lacey as he closes in on a decision. TCU, which hosted the local prospect last weekend, and Notre Dame are also contenders in this one.
Mizzou hosting blue-chip RB, more top targets
+Missouri will host the nation’s No. 3 RB Landen Williams-Callis and inject itself into the race for the touted back. SMU, Houston, Indiana, and LSU have all hosted the blue-chipper for official visits. Colleague Steve Wiltfong views Oregon as the frontrunner, and Texas A&M remains a factor in this recruitment.
+All-American interior OL Tristan Dare will be back in town for the second time this offseason. Missouri is going toe to toe with Stanford and also Washington for the talented OL prospect.
Other notable visitors this weekend
+Baylor will host Rivals300 EDGE Brayden Booth. Kansas State made a splash with the four-star pass-rusher, and it’s reflected on the Rivals RPM. The Bears have been on top in Booth’s recruitment for a long stretch and won’t stop recruiting the in-state target.
+Ohio State will get four-star RB Jay Miles on campus a second time before he makes his college decision. Florida State has some traction after his time in Tallahassee last weekend. The Rivals Industry Ranking No. 27 RB is no longer visiting LSU and will push forward with a decision after getting another look around Columbus.
+Nebraska is hosting five-star OL Albert Simien for another visit as the blue-chipper moves closer toward making his decision. Texas A&M is in a great spot with the No. 10 player in America. Nebraska has been involved in this recruitment since the jump and Simien relishes his relationships in Lincoln. LSU and Notre Dame are also keeping this race within reach.
+Rivals300 LB Case Alexander will return to Penn State. The Nittany Lions have continued to position themselves well for one of Oklahoma’s top prospects as he closes in on a decision. My RPM is fixed on Penn State, as Matt Campbell and his staff haven’t skipped a beat in this one from Ames to State College.
+Four-star DL Jaden Bayonne swapped out plans to visit Arkansas with an official visit to Kentucky. The Wildcats have come on strong with the Rivals300 prospect also bullish on Mississippi State and TCU.
+Texas A&M will host four-star RB SaRod Baker, who committed to Texas Tech after consecutive visits out to Lubbock this spring. The Aggies are making a very strong run at the Rivals300 playmaker from DeSoto (Texas). Baker is slated to be at Texas Tech on June 19.
+UCLA has been making a strong push to move four-star ATH Karece Hoyt off his commitment to Baylor for the past few months, and the Bruins are a threat to do that ahead of this official visit to Westwood. Arkansas and Texas Tech are also pressing to flip the two-way standout from Frisco (Texas) Lone Star.
+Iowa will host Rivals300 CB Daniel Yebit for an official visit this weekend. Minnesota had the Yukon (Okla.) four-star prospect on campus last weekend and leads on the Rivals RPM. The Hawkeyes are aiming to make noise late, along with Oklahoma State.
+West Virginia has made a lot of noise in Louisiana over the last few recruiting cycles and was an early contender at the table for RIvals300 S Kaston Lewis. Arkansas and Texas Tech are also frontrunners here.
+Arizona will host three-star LB Davon Smith, who spent last weekend at Utah and is slated to be at LSU on June 19 before making a decision. The Wildcats have been out in front with the Spring (Texas) Westfield defender. Utah has momentum and the Tigers have come on strong since offering.
