WEATHERFORD – Kendra Ruecker was a loving daughter, wife, sister, friend, and most of all, a super Mom. She was called home by her Lord and Savior, June 13, 2026, at the age of 51. She was tremendously proud of her family-her loving husband, Dion; son, Landon; and daughters, Reese and Reagan. Kendra Marie Ruecker was born on November 22, 1974, to Ken and Sandra Splawn in Perryton, Texas. She attended kindergarten and 1st grade in Perryton before moving to Canyon, Texas for her 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade years. With both parents in education the family moved back to Perryton in 1985 for Kendra’s 5th grade year. She was a student in the Perryton ISD from her 5th grade through Perryton High School where she graduated in 1993. Academically, while in high school, Kendra was a member of the National Honor Society, Who’s Who, and graduated with honors. Athletically, she excelled and received honors in volleyball, basketball, and track. She was named as the PHS Best All-Around Female Athlete her senior year. She attended Texas Tech University where she met the love of her life, Dion Ruecker. Kendra was a member of the Delta Delta Delta “Tri-Delt” Sorority, where she made lifelong friends. She graduated from Tech in 1997. Kendra and Dion were married on March 20, 1999. The three Ruecker children were born while the family lived in McKinney, Texas. The Rueckers then moved to Heath, Texas in 2014, where each of the three children would graduate from Rockwall-Heath High School. Kendra and family relocated to Weatherford, Texas, in December of 2024. She was a huge sports fan. Kendra particularly loved following the Texas Tech Red Raiders in all sports, the Texas Rangers and any squad that had her children or nephews as a part of the team. Kendra was involved in several volunteer works. She was active in the Young Men’s Service League with Landon, a board member of Texas Pearl (a National Charity League), and a parent volunteer for the Heath HS volleyball team. Kendra loved being at home spending time with family. She enjoyed shopping (mostly online), watching shows, going to church, doing her daily devotionals, going to dinner (Mexican food was her favorite), and taking her dog, Cash, on a walk. The beach was her favorite getaway spot. Kendra was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Gordon Ruecker. Kendra is survived by her husband of 27 years, Dion; son, Landon; daughters, Reese and Reagan; her parents, Ken and Sandra Splawn; brother, Michael Splawn and his wife, Wendi; mother-in-law, Linda Ruecker; sisters-in-law, Jodie Ruecker, Debbie Babbitt and husband, Curtis and Susan Clemmer and husband, Kelly; brother-in-law, Jeff Ruecker and wife, Melisa; nephews, Dalton Splawn, Paxton Splawn, Gavin Splawn, Graydon Splawn and Dakody Clemmer; and nieces, Denver Smith, Raelyn Clemmer and Olivia Ruecker.
