COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – An 18-year-old from Madisonville is facing Racing on Highway, and DWI charges after Texas A&M University Police say they caught him and another driver racing near campus early Saturday morning.
According to arrest records, officers spotted a Dodge Charger and a Hyundai Sonata going south on Texas Avenue near George Bush Drive around 2:30 a.m.
Police say the vehicles were clocked at 81 mph in a 40-mph zone.
Police say the 18-year-old driver of the Charger admitted to officers he was coming from the Northgate area, admitted to drinking there, and he admitted to receiving a Minor in Possession citation from College Station police while he was at Northgate.
The driver of the Sonata was identified as a 19-year-old from Madisonville.
She was also arrested on charges of Racing on a Highway.
