EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A late-night wastewater line break prompted an emergency response in east El Paso, but officials said drinking water remained safe and service was not disrupted.
On Thursday at about 11:30 p.m., a wastewater spill occurred after a break in a wastewater line at 1335 Henry Brennan Drive that caused a sinkhole and power outages.
Crews contained the spill within a nearby stormwater pond.
El Paso Water officials said crews remained on-site working to repair the wastewater line.

After repairs are completed, cleanup and disinfection will follow, officials said.
No water or wastewater services were affected, and the public drinking water supply is not at risk.
The spill also caused a power outage, which El Paso Electric officials said impacted 11 customers. The power outage was restored by 12:35 p.m.
El Paso Electric officials said the sinkhole happened during trenching work in the area.
El Paso Electric officials said a piece of underground equipment known as a riser fuse was damaged.
