EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso deputies arrested a confirmed Chuco Tango gang member Monday on a felony parole violation warrant after receiving information about his whereabouts and finding him hiding in a residence basement, officials said.
According to the El Paso County Constable’s Office, on Monday at about 2 p.m., deputy constables from two El Paso County precincts received information on the location of a wanted subject, identified as 36-year-old Jonathan L. Samaniego of El Paso.
Precinct Six and Precinct Four deputy constables then went to a residence in the 3100 block of Douglas Ave. in central El Paso to try to locate Samaniego, who was wanted on a felony parole violation warrant.
According to officials, deputies made contact with a family member at the home who confirmed Samaniego was inside. The deputies then obtained verbal consent from the family member to enter the residence and search for him.
Samaniego was found in the basement and taken into custody without incident, officials said.
He was arrested on a parole violation Texas Department of Criminal Justice warrant with a zero bond, and transported to the El Paso County Detention Facility, where he was booked.
Officials said Samaniego is a confirmed Chuco Tango gang member and is on parole with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for assault on a peace officer.
