Two stars of the hit sitcom “Modern Family” recently made a stop in Austin, embracing many of the city’s classic tourist traditions along the way.
Ariel Winter, who played Alex Dunphy on the long-running ABC comedy, documented the trip on Instagram alongside her on-screen brother Nolan Gould, who portrayed Luke Dunphy.
In a post captioned “austin part 1…the @sadiejean experience 😍,” Winter shared photos and videos from around the city, including a visit to Antone’s Nightclub. The caption suggests the pair attended a performance by singer-songwriter Sadie Jean, who played the venue on June 11. Other images showed the group trying bull riding and browsing records inside Antone’s record store.
A follow-up post, captioned “austin part 2!!!,” featured more Austin staples. Winter and Gould were seen eating ribs at Terry Black’s Barbecue, shopping for cowboy boots, strolling along South Congress Avenue and spending time with friends at what appeared to be a local dive bar.
One slide even captured a grackle taking a dip in a hotel pool.
Fans in the comments celebrated the reunion of the television siblings.
“Please just be siblings forever,” one commenter wrote.
Another referenced a recurring joke from the series, writing, “And she said she’s not gonna take care of Luke when they grow up. Oh Alexandra Dunphy.”
