Texas has a new ball. Longhorns football and Nike announced the new “Bevo Inspired” football that UT will be using in the 2026 season. The Nike Vapor Elite features some special touches that are unique to the Longhorns program.
Under NCAA rules, teams can choose the ball they want to use on offense. Teams can have a new ball on each possession, provided the ball meets all standard dimensions and is inspected by the referees.
The home team is responsible for providing the game ball for both sides, but visiting teams can bring their own balls if they desire. The NCAA allows for team logos, customization and brand sponsorships.
The new ball features an orange Nike swoosh that has “Bevo inspired detailing” using “Bevo’s iconic hide pattern.” The ball also has “Texas” written in a script font. The leather on the new ball is dark, dark brown.
As long as Arch Manning can get a good grip on the new football, Texas fans won’t really care what it looks like.
