EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Viral comedian Skweezy Jibbs fulfilled his childhood dream– well, actually, his dream for the past few weeks– of playing volleyball at the U.S.-Mexico border wall.
On Tuesday, Skweezy Jibbs, who was in town as part of a tour screening his first film, “Skweezy Jibbs Makes a Movie,” brought his fans to play a volleyball game near the Sunland Park-Anapra area using the border wall as the net.
“I don’t know if my childhood dream was to play volleyball at the border wall, but it’s definitely been a dream for the past couple of weeks and y’all showed up,” Skweezy said. “This was awesome. Thank you so much El Paso.”
Dozens of Skweezy’s fans showed up on the U.S. side, some of them with banners.
However, if you asked Skweezy, the comedian was surprised anyone showed up at all, despite his large following– 822 thousand followers on Instagram alone.
Turns out, Skweezy admitted he was not familiar with the border area and chose an area that is now the International Boundary Monument No. 1.

“I can’t believe he showed up… somehow he found us, and somehow it worked,” Skweezy said, referring to one man, the only player who showed up on the Ciudad Juarez side. “The homie over on that side of the wall had the best like bump set, like I’ve seen in a long time, so it worked out great.”
Speaking on whether he was worried about how Border Patrol was going to react, Skweezy didn’t seem to be concerned.
“I was like ‘listen,’ like if they asked me what I’m doing, I’m gonna say ‘playing a game of volleyball.’ And if they say ‘why?,’ I was just gonna say ‘because it’s a fun sport,'” Skweezy said.

KFOX14/CBS4 spoke with Skweezy’s fans.

“He’s like an idol, honestly… a big influence in my life,” a colorful super fan said. “The reason I act like I act is because of him.”

“This is a really good opportunity to come out here and meet new people,” another fan said. “We ended helping each other out, showing each other our maps, just giving each other directions, and I thought that was a very nice thing for us to do.”

“I just wanted to see if it was actually gonna happen,” a doubtful fan said.
And some fans, like Borderland artist Citlali Delgado, who said she saw a political message in the fun stunt.

“For him to straight up address that we are across from our sister city Juarez, I think it was like that’s what I came out here to support,” Delgado said. “We can’t turn a blind eye on what makes our region so great.. the relationships we have not only with Juarez, but also with New Mexico.”
Next stop in Skweezy’s movie tour is Albuquerque.
