A 16-year-old was killed, and another 16-year-old is facing a murder charge following an early-morning shooting Tuesday in West Dallas, according to police.
Dallas police responded to a shooting call about 2:05 a.m. in the 3700 block of Bayside Street, police said in a statement.
According to a preliminary investigation, the two teens were involved in a dispute that escalated into a shooting. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported both juveniles to a local hospital for treatment.
One of the teens later died from his injuries, police said.
The surviving teen is facing a murder charge and will be transported to the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center after his release from the hospital, the statement said.
Authorities have not released the identities of either teen because of their ages.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
