CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An 18-wheeler accident has forced law enforcement officials to close the 

Interstate Highway 37 toward the Bayfront area, southbound SH 286.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday morning, the Harbor Bridge Project said drivers are being rerouted to Port Avenue. 

It may take emergency responders several hours to restore access. HBP advised motorists to use caution, avoid the area, or prepare for potential long delays.
