The star of a New York-based Netflix reality series has officially announced a major expansion into the Lone Star State.

Real estate broker Ryan Serhant, who stars in and executive produces Owning Manhattan — the luxury real estate series often compared to the streaming giant’s other hit show, “Selling Sunset” — has launched four new offices in Texas, in Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.

Serhant’s arrival comes at an interesting time for Texas real estate. Recent reports suggest the state’s once-red-hot real estate market is “fizzling out,” with a record number of home-sale cancellations in some locations. While there’s no indication the Manhattan-based reality star will be bringing the cameras to Texas any time soon, his brokerage’s arrival marks the latest development in the state’s ever-changing real estate landscape.

Plus, there’s a healthy reality TV connection. Serhant previously starred in Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing New York and Sell It Like Serhant, making his Texas expansion notable amid growing interest in shows like Bravo’s new series –– Secrets, Lies, Texas Wives.

The new move is among the most significant launches in the company’s history.

“The Buzz is Bigger in Texas,” reads a June 23 SERHANT social media post announcing the launch. The expansion will combine six leading Texas brokerages and more than a dozen founding agents across its new offices, bringing together nearly $1.5 billion in sales volume under the luxury brand.

In an exclusive interview with Realtor.com, Serhant said that the move to Texas is “strategic” due to the state’s influx of industry growth and a population boom from movers in other states.

“There is energy, aerospace, tech, manufacturing and logistics—and just as these corporations are growing, so are the real estate needs across all the markets in Texas,” he told the outlet, noting that he was born in Texas, and the move marks a bit of a homecoming for him.

The entrepreneur, who has closed more than $15 billion in sales throughout his career, started his company, SERHANT, in 2020.

Prior to the Texas move, it expanded into California and now has locations in 17 states.
