BENBROOK – Mr. Clifford Lee Thompson, age 73, of Hale Center, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at Kindred Hospital in Tarrant County, Fort Worth, Texas. Clifford was born on May 3, 1953, to the late Arvadie Thompson and Lee Vester Thompson. He was the youngest of four children and was deeply cherished by all who knew and loved him. Clifford devoted many years of faithful service to Union Pacific Railroad, where he worked diligently and built lasting friendships throughout his career. He was known for his dedication, hard work, and commitment to providing for his family. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Clifford found great joy in spending time with his family and caring for those he loved. Clifford enjoyed the things he loved most-sports, blues music, cooking, and watching western television shows. He was known as an excellent cook who could make anything from scratch, and his meals brought comfort and joy to many. One of Clifford’s greatest loves was his mother, whom he spoke of often and with deep affection. His love for family was evident in everything he did. Clifford was preceded in death by his father, Arvadie Thompson; his mother, Lee Vester Thompson; his brothers, Burnzel Thompson and Jameszel Thompson; his sister, Mary Nell Stephens; and a host of other beloved family members. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Ruthie Thompson; his children, Clifford Rochea Thompson and wife, Patricia Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas, Kevin Deshawn Thompson and wife, Sherae Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas, Alicia Smoots and husband, Rickey Smoots of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Shana Porch of Fort Worth, Texas. He was also a proud grandfather to Jordan, Maddox, Braxton, Daezia, Jaiden, Tajmahn, and Raevin. Clifford also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Clifford will be remembered for his humor, wisdom, love, and strength. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
