CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Pride Month is nearing its end, but there are still opportunities for the community to show support for the LGBTQ community.

On Saturday, the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation and the Pride Center of the Coastal Bend will host the 4th Annual Rainbow Run/Walk 5K. Organizers say the event began in 2023 as a way to celebrate Pride Month while promoting health and wellness across the Coastal Bend.

Liz Murray with the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation says the event is about more than just running or walking.

“Celebrate our differences because our differences are what make us unique.”

This year’s event will begin at the newly renovated Cole Park Pier, a change from previous years. Organizers say everyone is welcome and encourage participants to wear bright rainbow colors.

Online registration is available through noon Friday, with race-day registration also available Saturday morning. Check-in begins at 6 a.m., and the race starts at 7 a.m.

The Pride Center of the Coastal Bend provides year-round resources and support for the LGBTQ community from its offices at 2882 Holly Road in Corpus Christi. More information is available at Coastal Bend Pride Center.
