LUBBOCK, TX (NEWS RELEASE) – Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas (GINWT) will host an inaugural Signing Day on Friday, June 26, at 11:00 a.m. to celebrate the launch of the Pathways to Success Program, a new workforce development initiative serving students from Estacado High School.
The event will take place at Difference Maker’s Fellowship, located at 517 N. Zenith, Lubbock, TX 79403, where 12 junior and senior students will officially sign their contracts to begin the program when the 2026-2027 school year begins in August.
Through the Pathways to Success Project, participating students will gain hands-on experience through paid internships at the Goodwill East Lubbock Retail Center. Each intern will earn $13 per hour while also receiving high school credit for their work. In addition to on-the-job training, students will engage in leadership development and career readiness education through Goodwill’s Career Resource Center.
“This program represents an important investment in the future of East Lubbock,” said Robin Raney, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas. “In partnership with Lubbock Independent School District, we are combining paid work experience, education, and leadership development to equip these students with the skills and confidence they need to build meaningful careers and achieve long-term success.”
The Signing Day event marks the official kickoff of the program and celebrates the students as they take an important step toward workforce readiness and personal growth. Community members, partners, and supporters are invited to attend and recognize the inaugural cohort.
