EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — We are closing June with a rainbow of events! EP Sun City Pride is bringing its Pride Parade and PrideFest, while Viva! El Paso is returning for its 45th season. As well, the City and County are kicking off celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary!

Let’s jump right into the events to bid farewell to June!

The spectacular retelling of El Paso’s 400-year history kicks off its season this weekend! The first show kicks off at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 26, at the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre. Celebrate culture, community and tradition with dance and songs throughout the night! The show will run every Friday and Saturday until Aug. 1.

‘Viva! El Paso’ returns for 49th season this summer

Very Hungry Caterpillar at La Nube!

Meet the iconic starving insect at La Nube for June’s Book of the Month star! The Very Hungry Caterpillar will meet guests from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. all weekend long. Children take photos with the caterpillar, enjoy an interactive story experience and explore hands-on STEAM activities inspired by growth and life cycles! Meeting the caterpillar is included with general admission.

Brincos Dieras: El Desmadre Continúa Tour

The famous and funny payaso Brinco Dieras returns to El Paso with his newest comedy tour that will make your stomach hurt from laughter! The “El Desmadre Continúa Tour” makes a stop in the Sun City for a show at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 26 at the Plaza Theatre. Tickets start at $112.

Summer Break Discovery series with El Paso Water

Join Willie and El Paso Water for the Summer Break Discovery Series! Stop by the TecH2O Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 26 with the whole family and participate in free water-related activities, such as crafting your own wiggly worm, making your own bird feeder and learn about the water cycles while making your own delicious refresher!

Screenwriting Workshop with Film Las Cruces

Are you interested in filmmaking and writing for projects on the big screen? Join Film Las Cruces from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 26 at 221 W. Griggs Ave. to learn about film storytelling and present your own original material! Group manager Bob Giordano brings experience in writing, teaching and consulting on these projects.

EP Sun City Pride Parade

The 19th annual Pride Parade will take center stage this weekend in Downtown El Paso! The parade will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 27. After the parade, all are welcome to join the post-parade picnic at Houston Park to gather and make connections!

Pride celebrations don’t stop with the Pride Parade! Join EP Sun City for their Neon PrideFest from 3 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 in Downtown El Paso as they light up the city for an unforgettable night of Pride, community, music and celebration. Guests can enjoy live performances, local artists, various vendors, delicious and alcoholic drinks!

Con Orgullo, A MACC Pride Celebration

Join the Mexican American Cultural Center this weekend as they celebrate love, identity and creative expression con orgullo y cultura! Here’s a list of events happening on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28:

Kick off the week-long celebrations for America’s 250th birthday with Pop the Fort at Fort Bliss! The celebration starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, at Briggs Park with free live entertainment by the incredible 1st Armored Division Band, El Paso’s Krystal Poppin, rock band Hot Chelle Rae and country star Chris Young!

Celebrate USA at 250 Art Exhibit Opening Reception

Experience the beloved classic performance of magic, romance and adventure with the Nylia Ballet Company. The Sleeping Beauty performance will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 at UTEP’s Magoffin Auditorium, where guests will step into a storybook world about the love story of Princess Aurora. Front row tickets are $45. If you purchase your tickets before the show, they are $25, while tickets bought on the day of the performance cost $30.

Criminal Justice Coordination 2nd Annual Women’s Resource Fair

Join El Paso County Criminal Justice Coordination for their 2nd Annual Women’s Resource Fair! The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 27 at Ascarate Pavilion. There will be over 50 community partners that visitors will have the chance to learn about all kinds of services! Sunset Stroll at Hueco Tanks State Park

Enjoy a nice walk through the rocks as the sun sets behind the mountains at Hueco Tanks State Park! Join rangers from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, as adventurers will trek on a two-mile hike. The hike will begin at 7 p.m., but guests are asked to arrive early for registration. No late arrivals will be accepted. Admission is $7 per person 13 and older.

15 Years Singing Our Las Cruces’ Greatest Hits!

Celebrate 15 years of Singing Out Las Cruces with this concert! The event will start at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 and 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at the Rio Grande Theatre. The concert will revisit come of the most popular songs over 15 years, featuring special guests from the past, archival footage, a lobby display, silent auction, refreshments, a special recognition and more! San Elizario Historic District June Tours

Walk through the San Elizario Historic District and learn about the 400-year history of the town with this free guided tour! The tour starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at the Main Street Mercantile, 1501 Main St. The tour is about one and a half hour long, and taking pictures are encouraged!

Last Sunday Hike at Tom Mays Trail

Explore the foothills of the Franklin Mountains with his guided tour! The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 28 at the Franklin Mountains State Park visitor center. The tour is a one and a half mile hike through the foothill and arroyos near the Tom Mays road. Admission is $5 for people 13 years and older.
